Woodwork, or just work?

The first thing I notice about my web search for workbench plans, that the word "bench" is primarily about woodworking … which might not be what I'm looking for exactly. Here is the test: if you do not know what a groove and tenon joints, which then most of the work bench plans, to the point where a Google search are not likely to look.
